Kanye West

Screen Shot 2016-09-06 at 12.06.25 PM.pngVal’s Look: While there may still be a few days until New York Fashion Week kicks off, you can set the bar high for badass street style inspiration at the Kanye West concert in New York City. After all, Kanye has definitely made a mark in the fashion realm as of late. When I think of the perfect outfit for a Kanye show, only the simplest thing comes to mind— the DG Sweatsuit in Camel Khaki by NYC-based designer Danielle Guizio. Not only was the sweatsuit featured on the Kim Kardashian-West app a few days ago, if I were going this is the only thing I would want to wear! It’s not predictable and that’s why it works. Dress it down with a pair of high top Nike Airforce 1 sneakers (I mean, how could you not?) or retro Patrick Ewing’s with a matching gum bottom. If that’s not your thing channel your inner Kimmie with a pointed toe statement pump— yes, you can definitely pull this off with heels. Keep your handbag simple and keep it completely solid black or in the gold and/or nude color family.

Sam’s Look: When planning an outfit for Kanye West’s Saint Pablo Tour why not take fashion inspiration from Kanye himself, more specifically his Yeezy line. The Yeezy Season One line is full of casual, athletic looks and earth tones. I’m sure Kanye would love you taking fashion inspiration from Kanye to attend a Kanye show because let’s face it; it’s no secret that Kanye loves Kanye. I like the idea of mixing different textures and earth tone prints for this outfit and when I found this cotton slip dress from Urban Outfitters I knew I found the basis of the outfit. Throw on a basic white tee like this one from H&M under the slip dress and add a neutral bomber jacket like this padded one from Forever 21 in case the weather cools off during the concert. A cross-body style bag is always my go to for concerts because it leaves you hands-free to snap pics and videos of both the show and you and your friends singing along to your favorite songs! This Michael Kors bag will keep with the neutral color scheme of the outfit, and the hardware details give it a little something extra. Finish off the outfit with these mid-calf heeled boots from Lulu’s for major Yeezy vibes!

Adele

Sam’s Look: When considering what the perfect outfit for an Adele concert would be I thought about Adele’s personal style and how she always looks so lovely and feminine gracing the stage in exquisite gowns. For this tour specifically, Adele chose to wear one gown and only one gown throughout the tour’s duration. The dress that you’ve probably seen a million times over now is a breathtaking Burberry gown designed by Christopher Bailey that’s dripping in sparkles and elegance. Using this gown as outfit inspiration I searched for the perfect dress for this concert and came across a starry two-piece number from Forever 21 that I think is truly the right fit for this tour. A flouncy crop top paired with a matching maxi skirt is just the ticket for effortless girly style. Pair this outfit with a pair of black flats like this cutout, lace-up pair from Lulu’s. (If you haven’t already noticed, Lulu’s is my go to online shop for shoes.) Whenever I put together an all-black outfit, which is often, I like to add a pop of color to it through shoes or accessories. This red Modcloth bag is the perfect pop of color to finish your look. If I were you I would pack some tissues in that bag because don’t forget it is an Adele concert and you may need them.

screen-shot-2016-09-06-at-12-06-38-pmVal’s Look: Adele…Oh, my girl Adele. Seeing Adele in concert requires a completely different attire than listening to her on Spotify as you lay around in your bedroom in sweatpants and that guy’s old t-shirt, wrapped up in a huge blanket. This is your time to show off! Push any heartbreak that you may have aside, and show Adele you pulled through. When I think Adele I think neutrals, flirty silhouettes, circle skirts, dresses, and a lot of lace.
