Shania Twain Is Still The One: A Playlist

By: Kerry Gallagher//

If you’re anything like me, you’ve been waiting a long time for country singer-songwriter Shania Twain to make a comeback. After 15 years, her time is finally here! For those of you that aren’t familiar with Shania (shame on you!) she revolutionized country music back in the 90’s and early 2000’s, earning her title of Queen of Country-Pop. With her experimentation of incorporating pop and rock sounds to country, she paved the way for some of today’s country music’s top female vocalists (Carrie Underwood, Kelsea Ballerini, Miranda Lambert just to name a few).

Shania has secured 48 million album sales in the U.S. alone and all it takes is a listen to a track or two and you’ll understand why. Her 1997 album Come On Over sold 20 million copies and with her hits “That Don’t Impress Me Much”, “Man! I Feel Like A Woman!” and “You’re Still The One” it’s still one of the top 10 biggest selling albums of all time.

The influential singer has had a bumpy 15 years between a heartbreaking divorce from her former husband and producer Robert Lange as well as a dysphonia diagnosis, a vocal cord disorder, and we’re going to hear all about it on her new album in September (my birthday month, thanks Shania!). Last month she headlined Stagecoach and performed a killer set including her new single “Life’s About To Get Good”, out next month, which she’ll also perform on The Today Show on June 16th.

We can’t wait for this new era of Shania music, so we made the ultimate Shania Twain playlist jam packed with her greatest hits for you to sing along to in your hairbrush just like all us country music fans did when we were kids!
