The MTV Video Music Awards are back and they have a lot of changes coming our way this year. Most notably, MTV has scrapped gendered categories as they did at the MTV Movie & TV Awards earlier this year. The former Best Female Video and Best Male Video categories have been combined to form Artist of The Year. In addition, the iconic “Moonman” is out and the “Moon Person” is in.
Kendrick Lamar leads the nomination pack with eight nominations followed by The Weeknd and host Katy Perry each with five noms. The awards will be held at The Forum in Inglewood, California.
