With the landmark 60th Grammy Awards approaching this Sunday, it’s hard not to look back at all the iconic Grammys fashion over the years. With so many legends like Whitney Houston, Paul McCartney and Michael Jackson, just to name a few, how does one narrow down 60 years of incredible Grammy Red Carpet Moments? You can’t, but you can at least try. So, without further ado, here’s my list of six of the most ICONIC Grammy Red Carpet looks of all time:
1984, Michael Jackson

In 1984, Michael rocked his ICONIC single glove for the 26th Grammy Awards and stunned. From the blinged-out military jacket, aviator shades, single glove, and effortless curls, Jackson created a red-carpet moment that is unforgettable.
1994, Selena Quintanilla

The gorgeous white beaded gown she wore made the landmark moment so memorable, not to mention her curly up-do and sparkly halter dress. Selena truly dazzled that evening, winning the hearts she hadn’t yet won over in just one evening.
2000, Jennifer Lopez

This came early in JLo’s career, but it is one of, if not the most memorable red carpet look she has EVER had. The gown’s navel-bearing neckline and sheer fabric leave little to the imagination, but give her that effortless JLo confidence. There couldn’t be this list without this risqué, yet stunning look.
2010, Lady Gaga

With iconic fashions like the “Meat dress” and her Bowie tribute look, Gaga always puts on a show. The same can be said for Gaga at the 52nd Grammy Awards. This was Gaga’s first Grammys and she was a showstopper in her sky-high heels and galactic-style gown with a matching metal star. This look shocked, but also let everyone know that she doesn’t ever do anything half way.
2014, Pharrell Williams

Even Arby’s got in on the fun, asking Pharrell to “Give them their hat back,” to which Pharrell responded, “Y’all tryna start roast beef?” The exchange was all in good fun, but lent itself to some pretty fervent attention from the public and media alike. Whether you consider this hat fashion or fast food marketing, this will go down in history as one of the most talked about Grammys fashion moments ever.
2017, Beyonce

Lemonade killed it on the charts and it earned Bey two new Grammys, one for Best Music Video for her song “Formation,” and one for Best Urban Contemporary Album. Not only were people in a frenzy over her music, but last year she was pregnant with twins and set to perform on the show live. So, when Beyoncé stepped out in this curve hugging red sequined gown, jaws dropped. From the low-cut neckline to the jewels around her neck, Beyoncé shined. This look is everything we would ever expect from Bey and more, which is why this look lands on our most iconic Grammy fashion list.
