Camila Cabello has a lot to celebrate these days! Her smash hit single, “Havana,” hit number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and her first self-titled album, CAMILA, debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. In addition, her new single, “Never Be the Same,” rose to number 30 on the Billboard Hot 100, up from number 65 last week. With these accomplishments, Cabello becomes the first female artist to triple up atop the Artist 100, Billboard Hot 100 songs chart and Billboard 200 albums chart simultaneously since Adele, who did the same just over two years ago.

CAMILA debuted atop the Billboard 200 with 119,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music. This is particularly impressive because early prediction numbers estimated that The Greatest Showman Soundtrack would beat out CAMILA by several thousand units, but CAMILA ultimately won the top spot by several thousand units! Simultaneously, “Havana,” rose from number 2 to the coveted number one spot on the Hot 100 in its 23rd chart week. “Havana” has been holding strong at the top of the charts, having to contend with Post Malone and 21 Savage’s hit, “Rockstar,” that held the number one spot for many weeks, and multiple versions of Ed Sheeran’s “Perfect,” including a duet with BeyoncΓ© that helped him secure the top spot for several weeks.
“Havana” has also held the longest run on the Pop Songs chart in five years since Taylor Swift’s “I Knew You Were Trouble” in 2013. It has also been declared 2x platinum in the United States. It’s shocking to learn that, after all of the success of “Havana,” that record label heads told Cabello and her production team that they did not believe the song would be a hit, which just goes to show that label heads don’t always know what they’re doing! Frank Dukes, a producer who worked on CAMILA, spilled the fun fact on his Twitter account:
Label heads and the people at radio told us this was not a hit when we first tried to put it out lol https://t.co/LSOsTRpD2w

Cabello has had an incredible start to her 2018 with her first solo album debuting number one, and hit her single, “Havana” hitting number one as well. We wish her all the best for a successful 2018!
