Get ready for your new don’t-mess-with-me anthem! Charlie Korman is breaking into the pop scene with his newly released single, “Options.” Here, Korman opens up about the real-life experience that pushed him to write a song about how you don’t have to stick around in a not-so-great relationship. He also reminisces on his recent trip to Africa and hints at a new project and music video coming soon!
Did the inspiration for “Options” come from a personal experience?
Yes, “Options” was absolutely something I was going through and I’m currently living with the mindset after the fact, but everyday is a new day, new experiences and new mindset. The experience just inspired me to write “Options” and I was fully connected to the song.
Do you plan on releasing a full project or EP in the near future?
I have a very exciting project that I’m extremely happy to be working on. It’s under wraps at the moment, but I can’t wait to let others hear what I’ve been been up too, working on, etc. It’s going to be a good time and hopefully everyone will like what I put out there.
How about a music video for “Options?”
Absolutely! I love music videos. As for “Options,” I want the world to see something that’s never been done before with that, completely out of the box, creative, unique, colorful, etc. Something that people can gravitate to, feel and touch. The music video should have everyone speechless. I can’t give too many details in what creative I am thinking, but let’s just say I plan on making it where you have it on repeat multiple times at home and/or anywhere else you might be!
Is pop music the direction you see yourself going?
I definitely see myself in the pop genre, it’s without knowing, it’s the music I love producing. But I’m also inspired by so many different artists and genres that range from Motown to R&B to Pop, like Bruno Mars, Frank Sinatra, Johnny Cash and John Mayer. So anything is possible in the direction of music I go towards.
Who are some artists you’d love to collaborate with in the future?
I’m open to all artists, but just off the top of my head I would say Bruno Mars and Justin Timberlake. They are truly brilliant artistry on all fronts.
Tell me about your trip to Africa!
Africa is something I cannot describe with words, there are too many words! The things we saw, the people we talked too, the culture we got to experience, the life they live, the children, the happiness they exude, it’s beautiful. There is so much beauty there, on all counts and the wonders of the world that so little get the opportunity to see is unbelievable. I can’t describe it. I’m very grateful I was able to experience that and and help in any way I could, the help and love for people as well, it’s unspeakable.
A big goal for 2018 is to make my friends and family proud. No one knows the future, so you have to take it a step at a time and enjoy every bit of love and time you have each day. Another goal would be to put together some sort of tour, I would LOVE to be a part of a tour and/or put one together.

Who are your musical inspirations?
My music inspirations are countless. I like Phil Collins, Justin Bieber, Sway Lee… my music interest is all over the map!
Anything else you’d like to add?
I can’t be any more happy with my team and support from my family and friends, they are the backbone to who I am, where I came from and where I will go. If you’re handed a conversation take it, it could change your life or save it. Everyone’s words are worth hearing and you can really learn a lot from just living life and being aware of your surroundings.
