Lorde Mashups

5 “Dynamite” Lorde Mash-ups That We’ll Always Be Obsessed With

Well, everyone… it’s time to update those YouTube playlists! Lorde has been on whirlwind world tour for her latest release, Melodrama, which means we’ve all had her music on repeat lately. We’re not sure if you noticed, but on the tour she’s also been doing a lot of artfully done covers and mash-ups, and to say we’re obsessed would be an understatement.

Most recently, Lorde mashed-up her song “Liability” with Kanye West‘s “Runaway,” getting us thinking about what other Lorde mash-ups exist in the world… and on the Internet. Therefore, we took some time to sit down and choose some of our favorite Lorde mash-ups ever, and now we just can’t stop listening to them! Check ’em out, and don’t worry… you can thank us later!

1. “400 Lux” x Bruce Springsteen’s “I’m on Fire”

Let’s being with this amazing live mash-up Lorde did on her Melodrama tour stop in Lincoln, Nebraska. Her interpretation of Bruce Springsteen‘s “I’m On Fire” mixed with her very own “400 Lux” is absolute gold. Also, the tempo is slowed down, leaving just a beautiful and melancholic melody that we can’t get enough of.

2. “Buzzcut Season” x Lana Del Rey’s “Brooklyn Baby”

This next mash-up features yet another Alternative-Pop female fave, Lana Del Rey. The song is a mashup of Lana’s “Brooklyn Baby” and Lorde’s “Buzzcut Season,” and the result is what the creator dubbed “Brooklyn Buzzcut.” What we love about this mash-up the most was that it was created and placed online by a talented fan, and it definitely has an ethereal quality to it, which both Lorde and Lana are known for.

3. “Supercut” x Sia’s “Breathe Me”

For our third pick we’re going back to the Melodrama era with a mashup of Sia’s “Breathe Me” and Lorde’s “Supercut.” Somehow, the songs layer together perfectly to create a pretty ballad that is just heaven to listen to.

4. “A world Alone” x Tove Lo’s “Habits (Stay High)

If you’re ready to have a dance party, look no further than this Lorde and Tove Lo mash-up! The combination of Lorde’s “A World Alone” & Tove Lo’ “Habits (Stay High)” for “A World of Habits” is so well done and just super fun.

5. “Loveless” x Halsey’s “Don’t Play”

Last but not least, this Lorde and Halsey mash-up is just totally kick-ass! Like the previous mash-up we mentioned, this one also deserves its own dance party, so click play and get to stepping!
