See You Soon, Gov Ball!

It’s that time of year again – festival season! Personally, as soon as festival season ends, I begin counting down the seconds until it starts up again. This year, Soundigest is heading on over to Governors Ball Music Festival on June 1-3 at Randall’s Island in New York City, and we’ve got all the details for you right here.

If you haven’t been to Gov Ball before, think of it as the east coast’s version of Coachella; except this one is for one weekend only. The big acts at this year’s festival include Eminem, Jack White, Travis Scott, HalseyThe Gaslight Anthem and even a “special performance” by Shawn Mendes. Gov Ball has a total of four stages, so don’t worry, we’ll be catching EVERY artist big and small. We’re super excited to catch artists like The Regrettes, Mikky Ekko and Lil Uzi Vert, too!

Aside from the focal point of the fest, which is obviously the musicians, there’s a ton of other fun things at Gov Ball, like the enormous amount of food vendors and activations! The food at this year’s fest is absolutely insane. What do you mean I can get fried cookie dough balls from Big Mozz x Cookie Dō while watching BROCKHAMPTON?! That sounds like a dream come true!

Other food vendors we are super excited about trying include John’s Juice, where you can get a giant pineapple filled with juice, and Takumi Taco where we will be eating an assortment of Japanese-Mexican street food! One of my favorite things about Gov Ball and their extensive food vendor list is that they’re very welcoming to those with food allergies and diets. As a vegetarian, I can’t wait to try Marty’s V Burger!

If for some reason you have free time between seeing all of the artists and trying new food, there are plenty of activations all across the festival grounds. Need to fix up your hair? No worries, OGX’s VIP Style Lounge and göt2B Style Bar will both have you looking great in a matter of minutes! There will also be a ton of games such as life-size Connect Four and Corn Hole to keep you occupied, just in case you’re not occupied enough as it is.
