One Direction Fans Take Over Twitter for the Band’s 8th Anniversary

The 23rd of July is basically a holiday for Directioners around the world, and this past Monday was no different. The 8th Anniversary of One Direction, fans came out of inactivity just to tweet and reminisce about the prime of 1D. It all started with a tweet from the official One Direction Twitter account three days before the anniversary.

The last time the account tweeted was on the 31st of December last year, so that alone sent fans in a frenzy.

The Official MTV TRL account even had to react to the tweet.

The One Direction account was pretty silent for the next few days, until on the day of the anniversary, they began to tweet out One Direction lyrics almost every hour.

Making fans freak out as they tried to figure out what was going on.

As the day went on Twitter was filled with tweets reminding everyone why the boy band was loved so much, like Liam Payne pulling down Harry Styles’ pants on stage.

Of course there were hundred of tweets that just made everyone emotional.

We can’t get through a One Direction anniversary without remembering how incredible the fan base was.

Or how almost every teenage girl had a room that looked exactly like this.

Some fans thought that we would finally be getting the “Infinity” video which was shot (according to a leaked video from the set), but of course, we were all disappointed when that didn’t happen.

We can’t forget of course the words that Styles, Payne, Niall Horan and Louis Tomlinson, shared about the 8th Anniversary, making all Directioners a crying mess.
