What could be better than the “In My Feelings” challenge? Doja Cat has the answer! In case you haven’t heard, we’ll fill you in.
22 year old singer-songwriter Doja Cat uploaded a very bizarre (yet catchy) music video for her impromptu song “Mooo!” What makes this song so catchy is the simple sing-along lyrics and an iconic homemade music video. The song starts out with a soft humming “moo, moo, moo, moo,” until the first verse when she sings “bitch I’m a cow, bitch I’m a cow / I’m not a cat, I don’t say meow.” The whole vibe of this song sounds like a explicit nursery rhyme that you just can’t get out of your head!
A few weeks ago, Doja Cat released a teaser for her newfound viral music video “Mooo!” and fans went wild in the comments begging her to release the full video. Once she finally did on her official YouTube channel, it blew up! Doja Cat gained nearly 3.5 million views in a matter of days! Although “Mooo!” isn’t available as a single on any platform, the song is still taking the internet by storm. Even mainstream artists like Khalid, Chris Brown, and Chance The Rapper are showing support for the song.

After the song began to go viral, Doja posted to her Instagram that she was creating her own new dance craze—the #MOOchallenge. The video shows us how to do Doja’s simple moves, challenging fans to also dance like a sexy cow.
The feedback to Doja’s #MOOchallenge has been not only succesful, but entertaining. “Mooo!” is truly a guilty pleasure song that you either love to hate, or love to love!

The entire video for “Mooo!” was filmed in Doja’s bedroom on a low quality computer webcam, in front of a green screen she hung up herself. The entire production of this song is genius because it showcases how talented Doja Cat is as a breakthrough R&B artist. Doja Cat has been around since 2013 when she began dropping singles on SoundCloud, but it wasn’t until 2014 that she would release her first EP titled Purrr! in 2014, including popular single “So High.” Earlier this year, Doja finally released her debut album titled Amala—her real first name. She describes the album to be “ice cream truck” music. Amala is smooth, sweet, and a little sticky at certain points in the album.
After 4 years of being in the music industry, Doja is finally getting some of the recognition she deserves. The thing is, Doja Cat has always been extraordinarily talented and super likeable. However, it wasn’t until this viral video that she started receiving mass attention. Perhaps the whole purpose of writing and producing “Mooo!” was a set up. Doja Cat is rather clever and knows exactly how to blow up her fame. With her bubbly personality and extremely smooth vocals, we have no doubt that Doja should blow up into the star she was destined to be!
