Chicago-land native and highly-esteemed musician Chance the Rapper is giving back to his hometown, and this definitely isn’t the first time. The south-sider announced at the second annual SocialWorks Summit on October 4 that he will be donating “one million dollars towards mental health services in Chicago.” Chance later added, “We want to change the way that mental health resources are being accessed by you.”
Chance is no stranger to giving back to his city. In March of 2017, he gave another million dollars in aid of Chicago Public Schools, in which the Chicago Bulls ended up matching, totaling a whopping $2 million in donations.
The rapper is highly respected and admired in the hip-hop scene and beyond. In addition to his donations, Chance will be joining other musicians in a charity concert on Halloween in honor of the late Mac Miller, which will ultimately benefit The Mac Miller Circles Fund.
