OMG, you guys! In case you missed it, Kehlani is PREGNANT! With an announcement on social media, the 23-year-old R&B singer revealed she is four months along and expecting a baby girl. How exciting is that?!
In her post, the 23-year-old admitted the decision to be public about her pregnancy was a hard call, but ultimately, it was one that made her feel liberated. “the decision to share this with the world was a tough one,” she tweeted, “but i really want to experience the freedom and joy any normal pregnant person feels. i don’t want to hide. i want to walk around belly out everywhere. ME AND MY SHORTY OUT HERE!”
The pregnancy announcement was met with a lot of love, but also some questions for the singer, who has labeled herself queer, been in relationships with women, and appeared as Hayley Kiyoko‘s love interest in the music video for “What I Need.” Kehlani responded to the questions with a sense of humor, firing back at one fan who tried to make a meme of her.
imagine thinking queer means lesbian and either means unable to have babies 😂 https://t.co/TfvkaQUisB

The “Honey” singer has not publicly revealed the name of her partner, though she has given fans several clues. On Nicki Minaj‘s Queen Radio, Kehlani shared that she and her partner had planned the pregnancy and that her partner is a bisexual man.
“I started dating women before I ever dated men. Then I was lucky to find a partner who was a bisexual male,” she explained. “He really understands my queerness and my fluidity, and I really understand his. It’s very awesome to be understood.” She’s also described him as her “best friend and quite frankly the only man on earth i trust.” Aww!
So who could it be? Well, her rumored partner is her guitarist, Javie Young-White, which both of them have hinted at heavily with Instagram photos, tweets, and retweets.
Javie Young-White is the brother of Jaboukie Young-White, who was just announced to be The Daily Show‘s newest correspondent. Jaboukie seems thrilled to become an uncle.

Kehlani told Nicki Minaj that she chose this moment to have a baby because she’s able to take a break from touring while in the studio. She said, “When I found out that I can get a break from touring because I’ve been primarily a touring artist, that’s when I planned for it for this time. It was studio and pregnancy. That’s been the most inspired I’ve ever been.” We don’t know about you, but we can’t wait to hear what new music comes out of this beautiful new era in her life.
