Lady Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation Unveils Charity for California Wildfire Relief

Lady Gaga and the Born This Way Foundation are aiding victims of the California wildfires. In the wake of the devastating fires, Gaga’s Born This Way Foundation announced a campaign called The #MultiplyYourGood Challenge. Now through December 21, the foundation is encouraging people to give by matching charitable donations that participants make to one of its own nonprofit affiliates.

Anyone who donates is entered into a drawing for a trip to Las Vegas, where they’ll perform a service event with the Born This Way Foundation and receive tickets to Lady Gaga’s upcoming Vegas residency, which opens on December 28.

If you’re interested in entering, here’s everything you need to know! First, select your preferred non-profit (Cynthia Germanotta, Lady GaGa’s mother and Born This Way Foundation Co-Founder, encourages participants to donate towards helping the victims of the California wildfires). Second, fill out a form on the Foundation’s website. Lastly, share your entry on Twitter and Instagram with the hashtag #MultiplyYourGood and @btwfoundation.

Gaga has been very vocal on her social media channels following the California wildfires. She had to evacuate her own home in Malibu, and rather than focus on her own loss, she’s been out volunteering and aiding victims of the fires. She sent out a series of tweets to let fans know how they can get involved and donate. She also posted a video of herself on the way to a shelter in California housing victims of the fires. Take a look:

“We’re heartbroken by the devastation in California and we hope our community uses #MultiplyYourGood as an opportunity to help support those who have been impacted,” Germanotta said. “We hope that those taking part in California — and beyond — consider picking one of the amazing organizations working tirelessly to respond to the wildfires and to help communities recover in the weeks and months ahead.”

The pop star also mentioned that the foundation would be collaborating with Starbucks to kick off the initiative and to celebrate World Kindness Day.

“We’re also teaming up with Starbucks to celebrate World Kindness Day and to help kickoff the #MultiplyYourGood Challenge with in-store activations. Two of those are in California, and we’ll be using those activations to help support the wildfire recovery efforts as well, collecting thank you cards for first responders in Los Angeles and donations for the Red Cross in Walnut Creek.” So sweet!

If you wish to give, we encourage you to do so! Remember: anything helps!
