At the end of every year we love looking back and seeing all of the great music that was released, and throughout 2018 many great EPs were released. Reminisce with us as we look back on 10 of our favorite EPs that came out last year.
10. The Band Perry’s COORDINATES
The Band Perry came out with a new EP this year titled COORDINATES, where they step away from their country roots and try out a more pop sound, and it’s pretty good! We love seeing artists step out of their comfort zone and try out new sounds and the Band Perry did an amazing job on this EP.
9. G-Eazy’s The Vault
G-Eazy surprised his fans with a gift on his birthday this year with a 3-track EP The Vault containing hits like “Power” and “Over Me.” Fans of G-Eazy were very pleased with this release, and we really think it’s awesome that Gerald gave his fans a gift on his big day this year.
8. Noah Cyrus’ Good Cry
Noah Cyrus gave us a great EP titled Good Cry full of amazing break-up anthems and really relatable tunes. It was really a breakthrough moment for the pop star this year. This EP was one of our favorites last year, and we see good things coming for the young Cyrus.
7. Fall Out Boy’s Lake Effect Kid
While this EP may just contain three tracks, it’s a very meaningful EP to the band. The band released it as a surprise in 2018, and the tracks included on it are dedicated to the city of Chicago, where the band originated, giving these tracks a lot of sentimental value to the band and the fans.
6. Hozier’s Nina Cried Power
This year we finally got new music from Hozier as a follow-up to his debut self-titled album in 2014. His new EP showcased his powerful vocals with the title track “Nina Cried Power.” The song contains very deep, meaningful lyrics and was definitely worth the long wait. Hopefully, we will be hearing more of him soon.
5. No Rome’s RIP Indo Hisashi
No Rome is a new artist that emerged this year with his debut EP RIP Indo Hisashi. It contains four tracks, including an amazing collab with The 1975 titled “Narcissist” that we absolutely loved. This EP may just have four tracks, but each one is amazing and we see great things happening for No Rome in the future, especially since he will be joining The 1975 on tour!
4. The Weeknd’s My Dear Melancholy
One EP, in particular, that was a hit this year was the Weeknd‘s My Dear Melancholy, which included the songs “Wasted Times” and “Call Out My Name.” We’ve always loved the Weeknd’s unique sound and this 6-track EP definitely showcases that.

1. Khalid’s Suncity
Khalid‘s Suncity EP is definitely one of our favorites this year giving us some great songs including “Better” and “Saturday Nights.” This EP has a really great chill vibe, and each of the tracks tells an amazing story, making this one of our favorite releases of the year. We can’t wait to see what 2019 has in store for Khalid.
