Back in 1998, American Football broke onto the scene with their debut self-titled EP. A year later, the band released their full-length self-titled EP, and after taking a hiatus starting in 2000, the band made a full comeback in 2016 with their second full-length album, American Football LP2. It’s 2019 now, and in a bit of a surprising twist, American Football is gearing up for LP3. You can probably guess the name of it.
This time, the band released the second single from LP3 with the help of none other than Paramore‘s Hayley Williams. Pairing up for the track called “Uncomfortably Numb,” it has all the elements of American Football’s calming, yet gloomy vibe combined with Hayley Williams’ beautiful voice to give it a fuller sound.
In the dark music video, Workaholics star Blake Anderson makes a cameo as he hovers over an injured person at what seems to be the end of their life. The POV of the video takes place in the injured’s shoes as they are taken away in an ambulance.
American Football’s LP3 is due out on March 22 via Poly Vinyl Records and the band will be heading out on a U.S. tour starting on March 20, 2019 in Boise, Idaho. The tour will wrap on June 29, 2019 in Houston, Texas. Tickets and details about LP3 can be found on American Football’s website.
