For Walk the Moon, the grind never stops. Since the band released its third album, What If Nothing in 2017, they have toured all over and have seen a ton of success on the charts. Now as the Cincinnati pop rockers embark on another tour, they dropped a surprise new single called “Timebomb.” Even better, the band graced us with a fun and colorful new video for “Timebomb” on January 23 to coincide with their first tour date of 2019.
The “Timebomb” music video features all the members of the band in a cinematic piece through what looks like a colorful house or pop-up museum. With crafty camera panning and framing, Walk the Moon shows off their dance moves and strong instrumentals. The red, blue and yellow backgrounds provide the pops of color you would feel dancing at a Walk the Moon show. “Timebomb” is a fun blend of the band’s old and new sounds. We get a sense of the band’s lightheartedness through the vibrant hues all throughout the video.
Walk the Moon always pays close attention to their artistry and the “Timebomb” video exemplifies that. The attention to detail with contrasting, but popping colors is subtle and effective. Additionally, the band members have different outfits and instruments that match with each background color they appear in front of. For an added bonus, there are shots of actresses singing “Timebomb” while wearing lipstick that’s also color coordinating. The single is a visual dream for those who love effervescent art.
Check out the music video yourself below. You can catch Nick, Kevin, Eli, and Sean on tour now if you want to dance with them in person. This song and music video show everything we love about Walk the Moon in terms of liveliness and positivity. Maybe “Timebomb” will lead to a new album? If not, its energy should hold us over for a while.
