Lil Peep Posthumously Gets His Dream Collaboration With ILoveMakonnen and Fall Out Boy

As many of you already know, Lil Peep was considered an OG emo kid and continued to use influences from emo and ’00s pop-punk bands alike. That’s why his latest posthumous release is one he would’ve absolutely loved. The collaboration features iLoveMakonnen and Fall Out Boy, two of his favorites growing up.

“One of my favorite hip-hop artists is Makonnen. One of my favorite bands is Fall Out Boy. You put those two together and that’s Lil Peep” –Lil Peep, XXL, 2017

The track “I’ve Been Waiting” is a beautiful pop track that brings together everything Lil Peep represented. Listening to the track, the rapper just sounds so happy.

In an interview with Complex, iLoveMakonnen revealed how Fall Out Boy ended up on the track. “After his passing, Pete Wentz reached out to me, extended his condolences, and said, ‘Is there anything I can do?’ I was telling him, me and Peep were working on our album. And I told him Peep had said that [his style is like a combination of] me and Fall Out Boy.'” The two kept in touch and eventually made the beautiful track we’re talking about today.
