Big hair and grainy pastels open the latest Jenny Lewis music video for “Red Bull & Hennessy.” As the leading single off of her new album On The Line, Lewis did not disappoint with a bright piano line and catchy track.
The pastel, crackling video features clips from Lewis’ listening party and fundraiser, where viewers catch glimpses of quite a few big names. The video includes musicians like Beck and St.Vincent. It also has timeless movie stars like Jeff Goldblum and Jason Schwartzmann. Jim James, Vanessa Bayer, Nikki Lane and David Aruqette made appearances as well.
The listening party is reminiscent of a whacky 70s telethon fundraiser, and we kind of loved it. A barbershop quartet, an old man on the xylophone and a circling band make up just a few of the acts that are involved.
The fundraiser, put on by comedian Tim Heidecker, raised over $10,000 for the Los Angeles Downtown Women’s Center. The stars, also clad in 70s wear, came out and made the retro-modern event a night to remember. The video includes hand-held cameras and gives off a home-movie vibe to it, which we love!
The video is nothing short but incredible. With a grocery list of stars, loud fashion and a leading single to wrap it all together, Lewis created a glorious highlight reel for her new album, which we’re DYING to hear.
Check out the music video, and keep an eye out for her album On The Line to be released this spring.
