As Monsta X prepares for its return to the American stage, the band has blessed its fans with a new English-language single, “Who Do U Love,” featuring French Montana.
The sizzling alt-R&B song asks a love interest for an answer on the titular question: “Who do you love? / Is it him or me? / ‘Cause I can’t take the pressure anymore.” The sleek, dance-floor track contains a thumping bass line and unwavering synths, as the members charter into sultry R&B territory, not too far from their usual sound.
The groovy single is complete with smooth vocals (most notably from rapper-turned-singer Joohoney) and all seven members’ falsetto harmonies on the chorus, all while contrasting with French Montana’s cameo bars during the bridge.
They’ve even shot a music video together so be on the lookout for that soon. The single is expected to impact pop radio on July 15.
“Who Do U Love” is the septet’s first release under a new label, Epic Records. Monsta X recently signed with Epic Records for all future English-language recordings and worldwide distribution of music outside of Korea. The seven-piece K-pop group consists of Joohoney, Shownu, Wonho, Minhyuk, Kihyun, Hyungwon and I.M. The members are currently in the midst of their We Are Here world tour, which starts in the U.S. July 25 in Dallas, TX.
Taking another step towards Western domination, the group will be making its American television debut on Good Morning America, performing “Who Do U Love” on August 1. They will also be the first K-Pop group to perform at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas in September.
We’re excited to see Monsta X come stateside later this summer and perform the new single!
