June 30 was an ~interesting~ day in the music industry, to say the least. In case you missed it, Scott Borchetta, the owner of Big Machine Label Group and the music executive responsible for helping Taylor Swift launch her impressive career, signed a deal with music manager Scooter Braun. A deal that, unfortunately, Swift does not approve of since it would give Braun ownership of the master recordings from her first six (yes, SIX) albums.
Feeling a little lost about the deal, what it means for Taylor, and who’s right or wrong? Well, you’re not alone! Not to mention, so many celebrities have put their two cents in on the situation that it’s made it nearly impossible to keep track! Fortunately, we’ve done all the heavy lifting for you. Click through for everything (and we mean everything) you need to know about Scooter and Scott’s deal, and of course, Taylor’s reaction to it.
