Noah Cyrus is back with a brand new single, and it will definitely get you in your feels this summer. Her new track, “July,” is her first release of 2019, following her Good Cry EP that dropped in September 2018.
After hearing Goood Cry, and now listening to her latest song “July,” it is clear that Noah is really good at writing sad songs that hit you right in your feels. Cyrus has expressed that this song is very heartfelt and personal to her. The song was inspired by a time when Noah felt Like she wasn’t good enough for her partner and stayed in the relationship because she was scared of getting hurt.
The music video for “July” was shot on 16mm film to give the video a vintage aesthetic. In the video, we see Noah all alone on a dusty path in the middle of nowhere. Noah looks very stunning in the video wearing a variety of all denim attire, definitely proving that denim-on-denim is definitely a look we should all be rocking. As we see the youngest Cyrus prance down the dirt road, we see her moving a huge pile of suitcases. The suitcases in the video symbolize Noah getting rid of the toxic baggage in her life and in her relationship.
Overall, while listening to this song, you can definitely hear all of the raw emotion in Noah’s voice and can tell just by listening that this song is personal to her. We are absolutely loving “July” and hope to hear even more new music from the younger Cyrus sister in the near future.
