“Hot Girl Summer” Isn’t Over Thanks to Megan Thee Stallion’s New Single

Summer might be coming to an end, but not before Megan Thee Stallion dropped a song in honor of her famed catchphrase, “Hot Girl Summer.” The new single by the same name features rap heavyweights Nicki Minaj and Ty Dolla $ign, and it’s exactly what Meg’s fanbase,  or “hotties,” have been needing in their lives before the summer comes to its inevitable end.

But this epic collaboration with Nicki actually stemmed from an Instagram Live session. And after the two exchanged jokes and expressed admiration for one another, we were suddenly gifted with this banger that we’ll be screaming to for the rest of the year.

And who better to show out for a “Hot Girl Summer,” than Megan Thee Stallion and Nicki Minaj? — Especially since the phrase means you’re just being yourself and living your best life without caring what others think.

Having already hit no. 1 on iTunes, the track is well on its way to becoming a worldwide anthem. It opens with a line from City Girls summer anthem “Act Up,” and has Ty Dolla $ign repeating the following lyrics: “Hot Girl Summer so you know she got it lit, yeah, yeah.” In other words, the song will have you off your seat from the jump.

Minaj brings on her usual wordplay with lyrics like, “And when we say it’s Hot Girl Summer, we ain’t talkin’ ’bout degrees,” before Megan jumps in for the third verse to mention how she has to stay single for the summer season so she can participate in her “hot girl” activities. “I gotta break up with my nig**a every season // Real hot girl sh*t, ayy, I got one or two baes.”

It looks like a video for the new single might also be in the works, and no, we’re not ready for all the hotness. Check out the song for yourself and let us know what you think!
