3. Woodstock ‘94 is Probably Why You’ve Heard of Green Day


On a lighter note, the Woodstock festivals have been known to launch careers of all kinds. Notably,Green Day‘s 1994 album Dookie wouldn’t have been half as popular if it weren’t for the iconic mud fight instigated by Billie Joe Armstrong against a volatile crowd during their set on the very rainy third day.

The event ended in bassist Mike Dirnt needing emergency medical attention and a gag order, but it also made the East Bay Trio who they are today.
