Marc E. Bassy released a brand new single “Where We’re From” and it’s definitely one that will get you in your feels.
“Where We’re From” is the third single the Bay Area native has released this year following his Spike Lee-film-inspired single “Save Me” as well as his Bruce Wills-film-inspired “Die Hard,” which also reflects Bassy’s personal new chapter in his life as he recently decided to leave Republic Records, starting his own label, New Gold Medal. The new single also follows the news of his new album, PMD, set to release September 27. PMD will be the singers’ debut album release under his new label and next big release since his 2018 Postmodern Depression EP.
The new single is a little bit of a smoother, sensual R&B vibe than his recent funk R&B singles. The single is a definite soulful track with a hint of electric autotune to add a flare toward the beginning and chorus. WWF alludes to mixed messages as Bassy sings “Don’t say you don’t want my love // Don’t say you’re not feeling everything I’m feeling // Tell me you remember where we’re from.”
The “You and Me” singer also released an acoustic performance of the new single Tuesday.
Bassy’s time on Jon Bellion‘s Glory Sound Prep Tour came to an end last month, and the now independent artist is gearing up for the release of his album and what is to come in this new chapter of his life.
