J-Hope and Becky G Release “Chicken Noodle Soup,” Spawning a Viral Dance Challenge

BTSJ-Hope and Becky G have teamed up and dropped their highly anticipated collaboration, “Chicken Noodle Soup.” The singers teased a “secret” on social media leading up to the release.

The trilingual banger features J-Hope rapping in Korean, along with Becky G singing and rapping in English and Spanish. Drawing inspiration from the 2006 hit by Webstar and Young B, the groovy remake samples the catchy hook from the original song as the rappers add their own flair and lyrics to the track.

In the first verse, J-hope discusses his upbringing and dance journey. He mentions his hometown, Gwangju, and his old neighborhood in Korea as “my Harlem.” “Went head over heels for dancing // Workaholic, every day,” he raps in Korean. “Grew being up all night as a teen, that’s the case // My height is measured by dance, I’m okay.”

Becky’s verse pays tribute to her roots as well: “Chicken noodle or chicken with spaghetti // None of these women have a flow like Becky // Latina-American, I’m from here,” she sings in Spanish. In the accompanying music video, the musical acts pay homage to the original choreography and showcases a group of diverse dancers from around the globe.

The cultural anthem has already spawned a viral dance challenge. BTS recently created a TikTok account and have launched the #CNSChallenge. Millions have already participated, including members Jungkook, Jimin and V.
