New music from Selena Gomez is almost here! The singer-songwriter is set to release her first lead single in four years on Wednesday, October 23. Her triumphant return to music was announced across her social media channels with the single art of “Lose You To Love Me.” The cover art is a grainy black-and-white headshot of the 26-year-old “Back To You” singer staring directly into the camera.
Gomez has been teasing lyrics to the track accompanied by photos of herself, several of which are photos from her childhood. The lyrics to the chorus appear to be: “I needed to lose you to love me.”

Gomez also posted two videos, one of a theater marquee featuring the lyrics “I saw the signs and ignored it,” and one featuring newspaper clippings that spell out the lyrics “Sang offkey in my chorus cuz it wasn’t yours.” In both of the captions, Spotify is tagged.
It’s hard to believe that Gomez’s last album, “Revival,” was released back in 2015. Since then, she’s released a few singles and was featured on a couple of tracks. However, none of the singles she released are going to be part of her new album. “SG2,” as both fans and Gomez herself have dubbed it, has been in the works for years. The 27-year-old “Wolves” singer first teased the release of SG2 back in 2016, so it’s safe to say she took her time with its release.

Furthermore, back in August, the “Fetish” singer shared some shots of herself working in the studio on her Instagram Story.

“Lose You to Love Me” will be released this Wednesday, October 23. If you’re excited to hear the track, you can pre-save it now on Spotify.
