1. “Bad Guy” by Billie Eilish

There’s an argument to be made that BIllie Eilish is technically a pop singer, but “Bad Guy” has all the trappings of a proper alternative song, and if we’re being quite frank, Eilish is too weird to be a proper pop singer (it’s OK, we love her for it). Honestly, you’d have to be locked in a box to have not heard this song at least once. The bassline is a certified brain chigger that will weasel its way into your mind and never let go. Oh, and it just so happens to be one of the top-charting songs of the year, too.
