BadMoodRude Opens Up About Working With Mod Sun on New Single “Novocaine”

Although new to the scene, BadMoodRude is making her place in the music world with her wide range of style as a singer-songwriter mixed with her knowledge of her local music scene.

Gaining thousands of streams on Spotify across her previous singles, BadMoodRule recently released her newest single, “Novocaine,” featuring MOD SUN and we have the low down on the new track!

Congratulations on your new single, “Novocaine,” with MOD SUN. Where would you say you got the inspiration for this new track?

The inspiration from this track is honestly about trying to get away from any toxic relationship in your life.

How did you end up collaborating with MOD SUN?

We met on Instagram, and we both loved each other’s style. I wrote “Novocaine” about a year ago, and I wasn’t sure who I wanted to be the other vocals on it, and then it clicked with me that he was perfect for the song.

Are there visuals in the work for the song?

Maybe soon. We will see how the song is going.

After working in the music scene, how’s it feel knowing people are listening to your art now?

It feels amazing. I love doing something like this that helps others going through anything hard in their lives.

And you’re fairly new to making music. How did you get into it and know that this is what you wanted to do?

My grandma asked me to make her a song last year, so I did. It’s just taken off from there. My grandma and I were very close. She suddenly passed away two months after I started making music.

Your singles have crossed a few genres. If you had to describe your sound, what would you say?

I wouldn’t give myself a genre or specific sound. I make music for whatever mood I’m in — it’s all over the place.

Where would you say you gain most of your inspiration when songwriting?

Going through difficult and good times both equally inspire me with writing my music.

Can we look forward to any live performances soon?

Yes, definitely — I’m going to start touring next year.

What can fans look forward to?

Finally getting merch — I know I need to make some. I keep having people making their own — it’s very flattering! Oh, and more songs!

Anything you’d like to add?

Just thanking everyone for their love and support. It means more than anything!

Take a listen to “Novocaine” below!
