“Glad He’s Gone” is an anthem for those who only want the absolute best for their friends, with a picturesque music video to match (that recently scored Tove Lo her first Grammy nomination). Tove Lo’s willing to travel miles and write beautiful odes to her friends in order to make them happy. In this track, she maintains her original edgy sound while also making listeners feel warm and coddled. Although it’s about friendship, the song’s written so romantically that you could easily classify it as a love song. In 2020 we need more songs about the devotion of friendship and “Glad He’s Gone” sets the bar very high.
