The Top 9 Songs on Our Playlists Throughout 2019

3. “Want You in My Room” by Carly Rae Jepsen

“I’m like a lighthouse // I’m a reminder of where you going.”

“Want You in My Room” is the only song on Carly Rae Jepsen‘s sophomore album, Dedicated, in which the pop songstress collaborated with producer Jack Antonoff. The result was so perfect, it’s dumbfounding as to why he didn’t produce the whole album. “Want You in My Room” has such an unconventional beat, which makes the track the most memorable on the album. The vocoder’s used so flawlessly in the chorus, heightening an already great song to masterpiece level. The lively energy that was created in the studio translates directly to the ear. What makes it even more unique is that, unlike other songs about sex that are dark and sultry, Carly’s vocals make the song sound celebratory, blissful and carefree.
