Hamilton Happens – January 20, 2015
Do you like musicals? What about history? What about a musical about the very specific and complicated history of Alexander Hamilton, the first United States Secretary of the Treasury? Oh, and it is mostly a rap musical.
On paper it sounds ridiculous, but through 2015 and 2016, Hamilton became a phenomenon. Kids who hated musicals liked Hamilton. Kids who hated history liked Hamilton. Kids who hated both musicals and history… probably didn’t like Hamilton, but they had at least heard of it.
