If February 3, 1959, was “The Day Music Died,” then 2016 could just as easily be called “The Year Music Died.” Losing David Bowie in January was hard enough, but Prince’s death not too long after was a definite blow to the industry — and some people might argue that we still haven’t recovered from it.
