BTS (aka BANGTAN BOYS) Debuts – June 12, 2013
Six years ago, it’d be hard to imagine that a boy band from a small company in Korea would be at the forefront of a cultural movement, but here we are. At the time that BTS debuted, Korean Pop (or K-Pop, as it has now become colloquially known) was less of a movement and more of a niche interest. Now, it’s impossible to go anywhere without meeting a fan of the band, and this group of seven has put South Korea on the map as an entertainment capital.
(Oh, and chances are even if you think you hate K-Pop, there’s at least one BTS song you like.)
