Pittsburgh native Mac Miller has been spittin’ rhymes since he was 15. He emerged onto the music scene in 2010 with his mixtape K.I.D.S. His music had themes of love, hate and perspective. Unlike many rappers, he experimented in a few songs with jazzy, electric sounds, leaving fans wanting more. He was honest and real about a stressed mind, pouring that emotion into lyrics that still resonate with us.
Tragically, his life was cut short in September 2018, and fans (of his music and universally) were devastated at his loss. Despite this, his music lives on, and we still continue to value and celebrate his talent. The release of “Good News” just last week keeps his legacy.
To celebrate the man he was, we’ve taken notes on his top tracks.
