Pop-powerhouse Demi Lovato has reverberated with the debut of her new single “I Love Me” and an influential music video to mirror. The singer remigrated compellingly after much needed time off from battling and mending a few demons. She commenced the start of her 2020 year with an emotional reintroduction into the music industry, debuting her single “Anyone” at the 62nd Annual Grammy Awards and kicking off the Super Bowl.
Lovato has been open about her struggles including her 2018 overdose and her relapse with drinking and bulimia. This past week the singer stopped by New Music Daily on Apple Music to sit down with Zane Lowe and opened up about her method to self-care and self-love.
“I do little things like self-care that seem really simple but add up over time,” she dished to Lowe. “You know, things like meditation or even just taking, like, Epsom salt baths. You know, like aromatherapy, listening to music and crying, like getting your emotions out. Whatever it is, just loving yourself — getting massages. Doing things for you that you might value as minor or unimportant. But at the end of the day, when you do little unimportant things for yourself, you’re showing yourself that you, that you matter to you.”
She also revealed that she is taking a second glance at her seventh studio album after her emotional performances at the beginning of the year.
Lovato shared on her social media in celebration of her single release, “#ILoveMe is OUT NOW!! I can’t put into words just yet what this past year for me has been… but this song focuses on a lot of what’s been going on in my head. We have good days, and we have bad days. The best we can do is be the best version of ourselves and celebrate that with those closest to us. Wanted to also give a special shoutout to all of my lovatics for always being there for me ❤️❤️2020 is OUR year!”
