Grimes and Elon Musk

Grimes and Elon Musk Welcome Baby Boy

Congratulations are in order! Singer Grimes and tech billionaire Elon Musk have officially welcomed a baby boy. And Musk took to social media yesterday, May 4, to share the exciting news.

“Mom & baby all good,” Musk tweeted last night at around 8:30 p.m. The engineer also revealed a potential name for the baby: X Æ A-12 Musk. And while it’s certainly an interesting and unusual choice, it remains unclear if that’s what the couple is actual going with. Anyway, moving on…

In addition to confirming their son’s birth and throwing out a possible name, Musk also shared a photo of him holding the baby, which was requested by one of his followers. And yes, the couple’s little bundle of joy is absolutely adorable. See?

But wait, there’s more. Musk took to Twitter again just a few hours later to post a close-up photo of their baby boy — albeit, with a photo filter that gave the baby face tattoos and eyelashes for days. Still, we’ll take what we can get.

Though this is Grimes’ first child, that’s not the case for Musk, who has five sons from a previous marriage. His first son, Nevada, died of SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) at just 10 weeks old in 2002.

The singer first confirmed the news of her pregnancy with a photo on Instagram of her growing baby bump. And when a fan commended her for not censoring her nipples in the photo, she said she thought about censoring them before deciding against it. “Being knocked up is a very feral & war-like state of being,” she wrote in response to the fan. “Might as well be what it is.”

But alas, the uncensored pic ultimately got taken down by Instagram, and Grimes went ahead and uploaded an edited image. “Censored for insta haha,” she captioned the pic. “Almost got away w it.” In March, she confirmed to Rolling Stone that Musk is the father.

Once again, we’d like to extend a big congrats to the pair on their adorable baby boy. And we look forward to seeing more photos of the baby (sans tattoos and eyelashes) in the near future.
