Ariana Grande Gushes Over Lady Gaga: “She Immediately Felt Like a Sister To Me”

Ariana Grande and Lady Gaga just dropped their collaboration, “Rain on Me,” off of Gaga’s forthcoming album, Chromatica, and the two cannot get enough of each other.

Through a series of tweets, the 26-year-old “Thank U, Next” singer gushed over how quickly she bonded with the pop superstar, sharing, “One time ….. I met a woman who knew pain the same way I did… who cried as much as I did, drank as much wine as I did, ate as much pasta as I did and whose heart was bigger than her whole body. She immediately felt like a sister to me… She then held my hand and invited me into the beautiful world of Chromatica and together, we got to express how beautiful and healing it feels to mothaf–kinnnn cry! I hope this makes u all feel as uplifted as it does for us both. I love u @ladygaga, u stunning superwoman!”

The “Stupid Love” singer was quick to respond, “One time I felt like I was crying so much it would never stop. Instead of fighting it, I thought bring it on, I can do hard things. @arianagrande I love you for your strength and friendship. Let’s show them what we’ve got.”

Grande did a phone interview with Apple Beats’ Zane Lowe to promote the song. The admiration and love she has for Gaga were apparent in the interview. Speaking on her participation in the song, the songstress said, “It feels so fun to be a part of something so upbeat and like straight pop again because I do feel like it’s been a minute since I’ve done something that poppy really. And that’s funny because I am a pop person, but it’s just, everyone knows that my heart is kind of rooted in the R&B influence music that I make, and that’s where my heart is. But it just felt so good and fun and happy to dip a toe into her world a little bit, and to try this on for size. It was so nice.”

The starlet also praised Gaga for how ‘comfortable’ she felt in her presence and during the video shoot, stating, “She made me feel so comfortable. And so her as an artist, but also comfortable stepping out of my me stuff. You know, the video is so Gaga and so fun. I had so much fun. I was like, ‘I’ve never dressed like this in my life. I’m just having the best time.'”

“Rain on Me” immediately shot to No. 1 on iTunes when it was dropped last Friday. The video dropped shortly after and as of publication time, it’s currently the No. 1 trending video on YouTube. On top of that, the joyful visual has been viewed over 39 million times in just a few short days. The track is predicted to debut in the Top 5 of the Billboard Hot 100 and could potentially debut at No.1, dethroning “Savage” by Megan Thee Stallion.
