Canadian EDM kinfolk-duo DVBBS resumed their busy 2020 release schedule Friday June 5, dropping an infectious, bass-heavy collaboration with Blackbear and 24kGoldn. The radio-ready track, titled “Tinted Eyes,” is DVBBS’ second song of the year, as well as the first single off of the duo’s upcoming sophomore album — making that their first album since 2014’s We Are Young. The best part? All proceeds from the single release will go directly toward Black Lives Matter.

The uptempo track opens quickly, getting right down to business lyrically, describing a failing relationship, how it affected them, and how they are “…just hoping you don’t leave me broken.”
The chorus goes on to say how they fear they will be tempted to take her back, singing, “Don’t tempt me with // Those tinted eyes // This don’t feel right // I should know better.”
As added promo, DVBBS released a custom Instagram story effect, overlaying deep blue eyes on the user’s face, matching the song’s cover.
Blackbear, who provides vocals on “Tinted Eyes,” is the one who shared on Twitter that all proceeds from the tune will benefit racial justice initiatives led by the Black Lives Matter movement.

Rest assured “Tinted Eyes” will grace DVBBS’ live show setlist when they — and the rest of the music industry — return to routine proceedings touring-wise.
