Recent early prison release recipient 6ix9ine is back with a new track featuring Nicki Minaj. Despite still serving time in home-confinement, “Trollz” comes in short order following 6ix9ine’s first post-prison offering in early May, “Gooba.”
He will remain on house-arrest until July 2020. The track and video were pushed back due to the ongoing human rights demonstrations in the U.S. and around the world in the wake of the murder of George Floyd by four Minneapolis police officers. “[The song and] music video will be pushed back again to June 12. Out of respect for what we are going through right now,” 6ix9ine posted on Instagram on May 25.
It hasn’t been all sunshine and rainbows for the rapper since his release for good behavior. He had to move houses shortly after his house-arrest address was leaked as a result of his own social media posts from the balcony of the residence.
Minaj posted on May 10 that a portion of the song’s proceeds will go to The Bail Project Inc., a charity that helps low-income individuals make bail payments while they await trial.

A portion of the proceeds from #Trollz including merch items, will be going directly to The Bail Project Inc. [@bailproject]. The fund provides free bail assistance to low-income individuals who can’t afford to pay bail while awaiting their trial. We want to protect and support the thousands of brave people working on the front lines of social justice, using their voices to demand AN END to the targeting and killing of Black Americans by the police. #BlackLivesMatter link in bio to Pre-save #TrollzVIDEO tmrw @ midnight 🎀🦄🌈🌈🌈🌈🦄🎀 NickiMinajQueen.com
6ix9ine sticks to his usual script of “throwin’ them racks,” throwin’ that cash” and “throwin’ that ass”
Minaj comes out swinging, calling out Usher, referencing his 2017 legal case in which he was sued for $10 million for failing to disclose his herpes diagnosis with a sexual partner, passing the STI on to the women. The case was dismissed in 2019, but Minaj went at him anyway, rapping, “They get nervous when it’s Nicki on the roster // Somebody usher this ***** into a clinic // My flow’s still sick, I ain’t talkin’ a pandemic.”

It appears Minaj was simply getting back at Usher for his comment on Instagram Live in May, deeming Minaj a “Product of Lil’ Kim.”
Minaj continues her onslaught, then targeting Cardi B as she raps, “I write my own lyrics, a lot of these bitches gimmicks,” then ex-boyfriend Meek Mill with: “Talkin’ ’bout snitches when it’s snitches in your camp // Never stand alone, you always itchin’ for a stamp.”
The accompanying music video opens on the pair feeding each other rainbow cake. Much on brand with his previous video, the visual is followed by Minaj laying in a pool, and then 6ix9ine holding kittens, then stacks of money. The pair go on to lick rainbow lollipops together. Fans noted that Minaj wears a wig in the video that is similar to one she wore in a video with aforementioned Usher for his 2014 song, “Lil Freak.” The video was viewed over 15 million times in the 12 hours following posting.
