Country music group Zac Brown Band has released their latest single “You and Islands,” and it’s the perfect addition to any summer playlist. The band is well-known for their island-esque feel in some of their more recent albums, and “You and Islands” is on par with their new aesthetic. “You and Islands” reminds fans of more simple times; with beachy undertones to the music, fans can step away from reality and experience a vacation in their minds.
In regards to the song, Zac Brown said, “This unprecedented time at home has given us the opportunity to write and share new music with our fans. As we continue to navigate through this together, we hope our music can bring you a little bit of positivity and transport you to a different time and place — even if just for a few minutes.”
”You and Islands” is similar to Zac Brown Band’s songs “Toes” and “Castaway,” which were released a few years back. But instead of being able to be a castaway, fans can reminisce on their castaway vacations and look forward to their next. With fun lyrics like “Let’s get back to you and islands // Kempinski and the warm salt air // Starin’ at that blue horizon // Close my eyes and I’m right back there // I swear the sun’s settin’ bolder and // Made us fall in love again // I can’t forget that last night // Let’s get back to you and islands // Everything, baby, everything’ll be alright,” fans are loving the song and are now looking forward to their next vacation.
While the end of summer looms ahead, ”You and Islands” is the perfect song to add to your summertime playlist, whether you’re lying by the pool or the beach (social distance-style). Take a trip in your mind with “You and Islands” here:
