Priscilla Block gained musical success just about overnight with her new single “Just About Over You.” The Nashville singer-songwriter packed up her bags nearly six years ago to break into the industry the traditional way — through bar gigs and networking — until TikTok fell into her lap.
“Just About Over You,” co-written with Sarah Jones and Emily Kroll, is a contemporary country ballad relatable to anybody coming off of the cusp of a breakup. Block sings, “Why’d you have to come back in, right then, right when // I was just getting good and gone // Guess I was in the wrong place, at the wrong time, // You must’ve heard I was moving on // Then right outta the blue // Quarter past 2, I’m all about you // When I was just about, just about over you.”
Block’s acclimated success started just three weeks ago when she posted a clip of herself putting on makeup and quietly singing her upcoming single. The North Carolina native then shortly accumulated approximately 330,000 followers on TikTok — and this was before her walk to No. 1 on iTunes. Block dropped the song on a Wednesday evening, beating Friday’s new release frenzy. Right after the release, radio host Bobby Bones invited the songstress to be a guest on his show via Twitter.

“This is by far the biggest moment of my life, and I still feel like I’m dreaming,” Block tells Billboard. “I’m thankful for so many things right now: having my name listed on a Billboard chart, for my fans and, most of all, for the heartbreak that got me here.”
