7. Taylor Swift– “cardigan”

Taylor Swift took us by surprise once more, as folklore rose from the ashes of the quarantine lockdown. With alternative band Bon Iver and Aaron Dessner of The National in collaboration,TS8 has become an instant hit! One track we can’t get enough of is ‘cardigan’, which is the first of 3 songs that decode a love triangle, along with ‘august’ and ‘betty’. The piano keys and Taylor’s soft-whispers work so beautifully together.

The music video, which was shot mid-July, shows T-Swift on a solo journey through magical forests, stormy seas and cute cottages. Her grand piano is the frequent actor beside Swift, acting as her anchor, saving grace, and trap door. Dreamlike and artsy, Taylor’s vision is brought to life in the video, as she navigates new settings and a few harsh conditions, making a direct correlation to us tackling challenges in life and love. The extensive safety protocols, cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto revealed to Rolling Stone Magazine, for conducting the video go from standard – frequent testing and requires masks for crew members -to innovative: different colored wristbands indicated which members of the team were permitted to stand closest to Swift, who had to spend a large part of the shoot not wearing a face covering. All in all, the video came out wonderfully!
