Jackson Wang has teamed up with Swedish EDM duo Galantis on a new track titled “Pretty Please.” The Chinese solo artist and GOT7 member wants you to give him a chance on the upbeat and addictive new track. The accompanying music video is his tribute to his love for Hong Kong and Chinese romance flicks from the 90s.
The video starts off with Jackson and his crew gathered around the table at a Chinese restaurant. It’s a huge bonus that we get to hear him speak in his native Cantonese tongue. While his friends are having a good time, Jackson is looking distracted and focusing on something else. We then see a girl appear as she frustratedly breaks up with someone over the phone. He directs his gaze towards her and begins to swoon only as he can. He continues this as they leave the restaurant, and one of his ways to win her over is to showcase his slick dance moves in the rain. No surprise, there’s already a TikTok challenge to accompany this impressive scene.
The multi-talented star wanted to pay tribute to his upbringing and culture — and we think the writer, director and producer completely nailed it.
