Louis The Child Collaborates With Coin On Funky Single “Self Care”

Nothing beats a dance party by yourself. So, if you’re in need of a theme song for your solo disco, Louis The Child and Coin have you covered. The EDM duo from Illinois collaborated with the Nashville pop-rockers to create “Self Care.” The perfect blend of genres has created a lighthearted bop to get you through the rest of the year. Maybe a carefree song about taking care of yourself and feeling free and moving is just the remedy we needed.

Louis The Child has a knack for working with some of the hottest artists in the game. This year alone they released tracks with the likes of Quinn XCII, Chelsea Cutler, K. Flay and Foster the People. Coupled with a clear inspiration from other DJs like Madeon, they are dropping more songs with indie, pop and rock artists. With Coin’s continuous rise and incredible third album this year, it’s a perfect project for both artists. Hopefully, this single will bring new fans to each of them.

Musically, “Self Care” is funky and smooth. Louis The Child’s production style matches perfectly with the rocking instrumentals and Coin vocalist Chase Lawrence‘s infectious falsetto. The pulsing synths make it impossible not to bop to the track. Lyrically, Coin’s words are simple but relatable. Nothing feels as good or enlightening as taking care of yourself. It may seem obvious, but it’s a message some of us need now more than ever during this turbulent year.

Both Louis The Child and Coin are making waves in the industry so it’s fun to see what kind of art these two powerhouses create. “Self Care” will have you dancing into 2021, but until then, we will have the tune on repeat for our own personal dance parties. In fact, if we’re lucky, this could be the grounds for a cool joint tour or music festival.
