Avril Lavigne Just Teased Collaborations With Machine Gun Kelly & Mod Sun

Avril Lavigne is kicking off 2021 with some new collaborations.

The “Head Above Water” singer posted a set of pictures with Machine Gun Kelly and Mod Sun to her Instagram page over the holidays. The snaps were taken in a studio and were appropriately captioned, “So are we ready for new music in the new year or what? Lemme know…..⚑️

Lavigne also shared a follow-up post over the weekend, which revealed that she is featured on American rapper Mod Sun’s new song, “Flames.” The track will be out this Friday, January 8.

This song marks the singer-songwriter’s first new music since her Head Above Water album in 2019. She was scheduled to tour in the UK in 2020 in support of the album but sadly had to cancel due to the coronavirus pandemic. Dates for the tour have been rescheduled for later this year and, with new music on the horizon, it seems likely that fans will get to hear it live and in person.

In lieu of releasing new music in 2020, Lavigne hosted a special live stream called #FightLyme to fund research, awareness, and treatments of Lyme disease. Lavigne herself had a very public battle with the chronic disease just years prior.

The “Dumb Blonde” singer has yet to reveal her collaboration track with Machine Gun Kelly (MGK), but our antennas are up for more info on what they have planned. MGK had a great 2020 with the release of his album, Tickets to My Downfall, hitting no. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100. His latest single, “my ex’s best friend (feat. blackbear), peaked in the top 30 of the Billboard Hot 100 and has racked up over 171 million streams on Spotify at the time of publishing.

Like you, we can’t wait to hear these new collaborations.
