Zara Larsson just dropped “Look What You’ve Done,” an upbeat ode to the strength you can feel after a bad breakup.
Produced by Steve Mac (Ed Sheeran, James Blunt, Demi Lovato), the track is an entire dance party, wrapped up in 3 minutes.
“‘Cause now that you’re gone, I’m number one // Boy, I should thank you for who I’ve become // don’t need no one, this girl’s having fun // watch me catch fire, yeah, look what you’ve done,” she sings over a sparkling disco beat.
The single follows previous releases “Talk About Love (feat. Young Thug),” “Love Me Land,” “WOW,” and “Ruin My Life.”
“I love this song so much.” Zara says of the track. “I wanted to write about heartbreak, but in a way that was also empowering and positive. In my world being vulnerable is being strong, but on this one I’m saying ‘Just LOOK at what you’ve done – I’m shining! You look like a piece of shit!’ It was important for me to have a song like this on Poster Girl.”
Poster Girl is Larsson’s upcoming third album, due out March 5.
In addition to a new album on the way, Larsson has also announced plans for a one-off global, online concert on International Women’s Day, March 8, 2021.
In a statement about the show, Larsson said, “I am so excited to collaborate with Ikea on this performance on International Women’s Day. I have always felt so passionately about equality and I’m excited to dedicate my first show in over a year to all the amazing women around the world. I have missed performing live so much during this time. I hope my band, dancers and I can bring some sparkle and fun to your homes.”
The show will air exclusively on Larsson’s YouTube page.
