Billie Eilish Goes Blond, Breaks Internet

The Grammys may be over, but Billie Eilish can’t stop breaking records.

Fresh off winning her seventh Grammy award, this time for the Record of the Year, Eilish posted a picture on Instagram that quickly become the third most-liked post of all time.

The picture shows off Eilish’s new ‘do, a long, shaggy blond look with trendy curtain bangs. She joins the ranks of artists like XXXTentacion and Ariana Grande, who also hold spots in the top-10 most-liked Instagram posts.

Eilish recently posted a TikTok revealing that her now-infamous lime green and black hair is actually a wig, although that hasn’t always been the case. Fans are speculating over when the drastic change occurred, noting that her hair still appeared to be green and black at the Grammy Awards on March 14. In response, Eilish said, “This was in my drafts LOL my hair has been blond for like two months,” saying she sometimes wore hats to make the wig less noticeable.

While Eilish is known for rocking wild hair colors (typically blue, purple or grey), she has maintained the green roots and jet black ends for more than a year. The star is a natural blond but has used wild hair colors to accentuate her equally wild fashion and define different chapters in her life.

In an Instagram Live session in December, Eilish told her fans to expect a hair change after the release of her documentary.

“It will be the end of an era. I’m going to give you a new era,” Eilish said.

Billie Eilish: The World’s a Little Blurry premiered on February 26, and her followers were quick to anticipate the change. The shaggy cut and curtain bangs have fans speculating that the singer is working on a new project or album. Eilish’s debut solo album When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? received critical acclaim and earned her many new fans (and Instagram followers). While it may be a while for new music to be released, Eilish’s fans can always count on her Instagram to keep them entertained.
