Queeva Talks New Single “Show Off” and What’s Next

Music’s next big country artist Queeva shares what it’s been like reaching millions of people through her work as a teenager in the music scene. With the music video for her latest single “Show Off” has reached over 68k views, we had the opportunity to talk with Queeva about her music and what the future holds for her.

Your latest single, “Show Off,” has reached over 65k views on YouTube. How does it feel to be reaching such a large audience at a young age?

It feels pretty awesome to be able to have a large audience to share my music with because I can share my message with other people. I am so grateful to have the opportunity to do that.

Can you tell us a little bit about the writing process behind “Show Off”?

I wrote “Show Off” with Brandon Darcy and Trent Tomlinson, and it was a song that definitely took some time to write, but it was worth it in the end. I think that every word matters when it comes to songwriting and I had so much fun writing this one because it talks about being yourself and not needing to impress someone you like.

Some of your greatest musical influences have been Taylor Swift and Dolly Parton. What attracted you most to those specific artists?

I grew up listening to Dolly Parton; my dad was the one who introduced me to her music. As soon as I heard it, I loved it, and as I got older Taylor Swift was every young girls inspiration. I loved how she wrote her own music and was able to write about relatable things, and she inspired me to start songwriting.

You’ve had the ability to reach millions of people at such a young age, what is one thing you want listeners to take from your music?

I want listeners to remember that they are not alone and that my music is always something that they can turn to. I also want them to remember to stay true to who they are, because even I need to remember that sometimes.

Are there any dream artists you’d love to work with, in genres other than country?

I love Shawn Mendes so a collab with him would be a dream. I love pop music also, so that would be so awesome if I had that opportunity.

Would you ever consider making a song or album in your native language?

I’ve never really thought about that, but for now, probably not. I just think that I need to stick to my style of music and do what I do best.

What are your top 3 tour tips for musicians?

Stay hydrated, try to rest when you can, and give it your all every performance.

Would you like to venture into other genres of music in the future?

I definitely am interested in venturing into other genres of music, but country will always be my favorite. I have stepped into the pop genre a little bit, but who knows where I’ll go in the future.

Where do you see yourself in five years’ time?

Hopefully in 5 years’ time I will have a bigger audience, and I will be busy touring somewhere! Also, I hope that by then I will have played at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee.
