It’s officially a new year and while 2022 is just getting started there are a ton of amazing projects to be excited about this year. Many artists that haven’t released music in quite some time are set to make comebacks this year and we could not be more excited. Below are 10 albums that are expected to be released this year that you should get excited about!
The Weeknd – dawn FM
Probably the shortest wait you’ll have for these highly anticipated albums is The Weeknd’s upcoming project dawn FM. Just a few days ago The Weeknd announced the new album and it is already out today, Friday, January 7th. The singer spent the past few days teasing the release on his social media.
Harry Styles – TBA
While Harry Styles has been quiet so far about the possibility of his third album being released this year, many sources believe we could be getting new music from Styles very soon in the near future. With his last album Fine Line being released almost 3 years ago in 2019 it’s not hard to believe that a new Harry Styles album is right around the corner in 2022.
Charli XCX – Crash
The singer announced her upcoming album Crash back in November and it is set to be released on March 18th of this year. This album will be Charli’s fifth studio album to be released and we’re definitely excited to see what she has in store for this project.
Rosalía – Motomami
Spanish singer Rosalía has become a huge star over the past year and just recently announced that her next album Motomami is set to be released some time this year! Her last album EL MAL QUERER was released in 2018 and we are excited to hear her follow up to the record.
Machine Gun Kelly – born with horns & TBA
Machine Gun Kelly has already mentioned that his next album titled born with horns that himself and Travis Barker have been working on is set to be released in 2022. What we were not expecting was for him to tweet recently announcing to his fans “two albums this year.” While we don’t know either of the release dates for these projects or the name of one of them, we are excited for two albums from MGK this year!
Cardi B – TBA
More music from Cardi B seems to be right around the corner in 2022 as well. Its been almost 4 years now since the release of her 2018 debut album Invasion of Privacy and fans can’t wait to see what she has up her sleeve for her upcoming second album expected this year. The singer went live on Instagram a few weeks ago to update her fans on her life and discuss the status of her upcoming record.
Lizzo – TBA
New music from Lizzo in 2022 definitely sounds “Good as Hell.” Her last album Cuz I Love You was packed with hits like “Juice” and “Truth Hurts” and we’re hoping for more hits from the singer this year. We’ve already had a taste of Lizzo’s new music with her summer collaboration with Cardi B “Rumors” and we cant wait to see what else this queen packed into her upcoming record.
Normani – TBA

2022 might be the year we finally get Normani’s debut album. She has had great success with her 2019 single “Motivation” and even collaborated with Cardi B in 2021 on the song “Wild Side.” She further teased the album being released this year by tweeting out a snippet of an unreleased song expected to be on her 2022 debut.
SZA – TBA
Will we finally be getting another album from SZA in 2022? sources seem to believe we might finally get a follow up to the singers popular 2017 album Ctrl this year. With the success of her 2020 single “Good Days” and the recently released “I Hate U” we cant wait for more from SZA.
Arctic Monkeys – TBA
2022 may just be the year we also get the return of rock band Arctic Monkeys. Their last album Tranquility Base Hotel & Casino was released back in 2018 and their upcoming follow up record is said to be ready for a 2022 release!
