Long Island’s very own Great South Bay Music Festival is making it’s triumphant return after an almost-two year hiatus this Thursday, July 7 until Sunday, July 10, 2022. The festival, which is presented by Blue Point Brewing Co., is returning to the waterfront at Shorefront Park in Patchogue Village, and celebrating the festival’s 14th anniversary.
Grouplove and Manchester Orchestra will be kicking off as the co-headliners for Thursday’s festivities, with Long Island’s Bayside as support. On coming back to their hometown of Long Island, Bayside’s frontman, Anthony Raneri, shared, “We really came up as part of the Long Island scene. I’m from Queens, Nick [Ghanbarian] is from Deer Park and Chris [Guglielmo] is from Wantagh. We don’t get enough chances to come back to Long Island to play so we’re so excited to play a show just a few miles from the basement where we had our first practice in Islip 22 years ago.”
The other days of the festival consist of other artists like Badfish, Rebelution and Galactic. With over 45 artists playing, fans are bound to be busy but shouldn’t forget that there’s a craft village filled with vendors, food court, as well as multiple craft beer and wine tents.
Tickets are still available for purchase from the festival’s site. $1 from each ticket sold will be donated to the GSB-Stony Brook Cancer Center Fund. To date, the festival and attendees have raised over $250,000 to fight cancer.
